Dr. Mousa Hamad is a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon specializing in minimally invasive and complex spine surgery and spinal oncology. He has completed his fellowship in Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Prior to this, Dr. Hamad completed his neurosurgical residency at the prestigious Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center, where he distinguished himself through his clinical expertise, research leadership, and dedication to advancing care for patients with spinal tumors and complex neurological conditions.

A graduate of Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and the Albert Dorman Honors College at NJIT, Dr. Hamad has received numerous accolades, including induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor Society and multiple Rutgers-NJMS Alumni Scholarships. His research spans from spinal metastasis prognostic modeling to device innovation, with more than 30 peer-reviewed publications and dozens of conference presentations globally.

Dr. Hamad’s pioneering spirit is evident in his ongoing work developing spinal surgical technologies, including patent-pending devices in cranial fixation and thrombus retrieval. He serves as a mentor in biomedical engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and has played a key role in international neurosurgical missions, including to Mongolia with the Virtue Foundation. 

With a deep commitment to both clinical excellence and health equity, Dr. Hamad co-founded the Palestinian Neuroscience Initiative, helping to establish infrastructure for neuroscience education and research in underserved regions.

Outside the operating room, Dr. Hamad is an avid cyclist, antique furniture restorer, and coffee enthusiast.
