Dr. Mousa Hamad is a fellowship-trained spine surgeon specializing in minimally invasive and complex spine surgery, now proudly serving patients at Maxim Spine. Dr. Hamad’s practice is dedicated to helping individuals regain mobility, alleviate pain, and enhance their quality of life through advanced, minimally invasive surgical techniques that ensure faster recovery times and superior outcomes.
Born and raised in Passaic County, NJ, Dr. Hamad earned his Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences from New Jersey Institute of Technology at the Albert Dorman Honors college, graduating with distinction in 2012. He subsequently received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Rutgers University – New Jersey Medical School in 2017, where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor Society and awarded the Rutgers-NJMS Alumni Scholarship four consecutive years. Dr. Hamad completed his rigorous neurosurgical residency training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in 2024. He then pursued advanced specialization with a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine/New York Presbyterian Hospital under Dr. Roger Hartl, further refining his expertise.
Dr. Hamad’s extensive research background includes contributions to the fields of spine oncology, spinal deformity, and minimally invasive surgical outcomes, with numerous presentations at major neurosurgical conferences and over thirty peer-reviewed publications. He has also played a pivotal role in international neuroscience initiatives, notably aiding in establishing the Palestinian Neuroscience Initiative, advancing research and education in neurological sciences in the West Bank as well as supporting and attending surgical mission trips to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia with the Virtue Foundation.
