Meet Dr. Monica Kleban

I am Monica Kleban, an ANCC board-certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP) specializing in neurosurgical patient care since 2016. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from the College of Saint Elizabeth in 2012, my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Rutgers University in 2016, and my Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) certification in 2017 from the National Institute of First Assisting.

Before joining Maxim Spine, I was a nurse practitioner with a large neurosurgical practice for seven years, specializing in spine surgery. Prior to earning my doctorate, I worked as a registered nurse at NewYork-Presbyterian and Morristown Medical Center beginning in 2009. I was even honored with The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses during my time there. In addition to my experience stateside, I also have significant experience volunteering in Central and South America, setting up health clinics and collaborating with physicians to administer care for surgical patients—a truly rewarding experience I plan to continue.

I am fortunate to have a passion for education and lifelong learning. While I work with my peers to publish and stay active in nationally recognized nursing journals, my mission is to provide each patient I encounter with an individualized experience. I am truly excited to bring my experience to Maxim Brain and Spine. I aspire to advance health care by promoting innovation and excellence in education, research, and patient care.
